Tucson, AZ (February 6, 2015) – The Children’s Museum Oro Valley is thrilled to announce that it has received a $31,250 donation from the Friends of the Oro Valley Public Library. The funds were used to create the Friends of the Oro Valley Public Library Literacy Corner at the Children’s Museum Oro Valley.
The Literacy Corner brings stories alive as families enjoy literacy-based programming or read under our Alphabet Tree. Children get lost in literacy as they climb into one of our Book Nooks with their favorite book. The exhibit features a canopy of books that soar out from the Alphabet Tree with pages turning into whimsical origami creatures.
“The Friends are happy to contribute to the new Children’s Museum in Oro Valley. It is an asset to the town and its families. Anything that promotes literacy and learning is in the Friends realm of interest,” said Jane Peterson, Vice-President of the Friends of the Oro Valley Public Library.
The Oro Valley location is the first satellite location for the Children’s Museum Tucson. The exhibit and programs provide an early learning experience for children ages 0-5 and their families. Children have the opportunity to discover and explore the arts, literacy, early childhood development, and school-readiness in an environment that enhances these learning experiences.
Regular admission at CMOV is $9, ages 1-99; free for children under 12 months. The Children’s Museum Oro Valley is located at 11015 N. Oracle Rd in Oro Valley. For more information, please call (520) 792-9985.
