The Library Book Shoppe is located inside the Oro Valley Public Library. It supports the library by selling not only books, but also DVDs, CDs, audio books, puzzles, Iris Paper Folding Cards and Southwest themed tote bags. Specific holiday cards are available when appropriate. Also see our books on sale this month.
is another shop run by the Friends to raise money for the Library. It is located at 10355 N La Canada Dr, Suite 173, in Oro Valley. It’s in the shopping center on the southwest corner of La Canada and Lambert. The shop offers all variety of books, and specializes in Southwest, Collectible and Arts & Literature. It also offers Southwest themed tote bags, used vintage and costume jewelry, and note cards featuring artwork by local photographers.

The Friends of the Oro Valley Public Library have awarded four college scholarships. Awards were based on criteria including outstanding academic achievement, exemplary community service, and enrollment in a two- or four-year institution of higher learning in the state of Arizona.
Scholarship recipients for 2016 are Mackenzie Orlosky (CDO ’16), Emily Haskell (CDO ’16), Mary McNamara (Salpointe Catholic ’16), and Nathan Firor (CDO ’16). Each received a $1500 award payable to the school of their choice.
This is the second year the Friends have awarded scholarships as part of their ongoing support for lifetime learning. Monies for the scholarship program are provided through the myriad fundraising efforts of FOVPL volunteers as well as from private donations.
